Feeling the Weight of This Challenging Economy?

Check out an innovative article from Oriel Incorporated to learn how Lean Six Sigma can help your organization achieve sustainable savings while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction!

It seems like another round of layoffs is being announced every time you look at a newspaper or turn on the evening news. However, as shown in our informative article, broad-scale cuts may not be as effective in the long run as pinpointed, more precise cuts. At times, a paring knife can achieve better results than an ax.

According to author and Master Black Belt Ernani Pires, “With across-the-board cost cutting comes the risk of throwing out the good along with the bad. In the rush to cut back, there is always the danger that an ‘anything goes’ mentality may prevail, with little focus on determining what adds value to customers and what can be considered waste. Applying the methodology of Lean Six Sigma can help organizations understand how to make precise cuts that will produce long-lasting and sustainable savings without any adverse effects to your product or service.”

The Three Most-Frequently Asked Questions About Separation Agreements

1. How Do I Get A Legal Separation In New Jersey?

There is no formal proceeding in New Jersey called a “legal separation.” However, if either or both spouses do not wish to be divorced but do wish to have a court resolve the issues collateral to a divorce, such as support and equitable distribution, an action for a “divorce from bed and board” can be filed.

Upon the entry of a Judgment for a divorce from bed and board, the parties will remain legally married but they will be economically divorced, just as though a Judgment of absolute divorce had been entered.

This vehicle is often used by a party whose religious beliefs frown on divorce, or who must maintain the right to remain covered by his/her spouse’s health insurance.

2. What Is A Separation Agreement?

A Separation Agreement is a written contract which resolves the terms of a couple’s separation. It may be prepared before or after the filing of a Complaint for Divorce—even while the parties are living together. If the Agreement resolves all marital issues, it is usually called a Marital Settlement Agreement.

3. What Issues Should A Separation Agreement Address and Resolve?

A well-drafted Separation Agreement/Marital Settlement Agreement should address and resolve as many of the following issues as are applicable:

  • Child Custody and Parenting Time.
  • Direct Child Support and Payment of Daycare/Education Expenses.
  • Children’s Health Care Insurance and Unreimbursed Health Care Expenses.
  • Life Insurance or Other Security for Payment of Child Support.
  • Income Tax Deductions for Children.
  • Alimony (Spousal Support).
  • Parties’ Health Care Insurance and Unreimbursed Health Care Expenses.
  • Life Insurance or Other Security for Payment of Alimony.
  • Distribution of Assets.
  • Responsibility for Debts.
  • Joint/Separate Filing of Income Tax Returns and Allocation of Taxes/Refunds.
  • Payment of Counsel Fees and Costs.

It is important that each party consult with a very experienced Divorce Law Firm, which will be able to explain and evaluate each of those issues, as well as to identify any other issues that may be relevant in a particular case.

What is a Synchronous Motor?

Synchronous motors are naturally constant-speed motors. They operate in synchronism with line frequency and are commonly used where precise constant speed is required. The synchronous motor is an electric motor that is driven by AC power consisting of two basic components: a stator and rotor. Typically, a capacitor connected to one of the motor’s coil, is necessary for rotation in the appropriate direction. (No capacitor is required for our UDS model that employs a single coil with an internal ratchet to determine direction). The outside stationary stator contains copper wound coils that are supplied with an AC current to produce a rotating magnetic field. The magnetized rotor is attached to the output shaft and creates torque due to the stator’s rotating field. The motor’s synchronous speed is determined by the number of pair poles and is a ratio of the input (line) frequency. Similar to our stepper motor, our synchronous motor can provide motion solutions for both rotational and linear applications.
